Procedure for calculating the check digit of the federal taxpayer registration

1.- The values in Annex 3 will be assigned to the letters and numbers of the federal taxpayer registration, which is formed with 12 positions.
Example: GODE561231GR
G = 16
O = 25
D = 13
E = 14
5 = 05
6 = 06
1 = 01
2 = 02
3 = 03
1 = 01
G = 16
R = 28
2.- Once the values have been assigned, the following method will be applied, taking the factor 13 in descending order to each letter and number of the R.F.C. for multiplication, according to the following formula: (Vi * (Pi + 1)) + (Vi * (Pi + 1)) + ..............+ (Vi * (Pi + 1)) MOD 11
Vi - Value associated with the character according to the table in Annex 3.
Pi - Position occupied by the i-th character taking from right to left, that is, P takes the values from 1 to 12.
Example:
D = (16(13) + 25 (12)+13 (11) +14 (10) + 05 (9) + 06 (8) + 01 (7) + 02 (6) + 03 (5) + 01 (4)+16 (3) + 28 (2)) = 1026
Where the result will be: 1026
3.- The result of the sum is divided by the factor 11.

       03 residuo
  • If the remainder is equal to zero, this will be the value assigned to the check digit.
  • If the remainder is greater than zero, it will be subtracted from the factor 11: 11-3 =8
  • If the remainder is equal to 10, the check digit will be “ A”.
  • If the remainder is zero, the check digit will be zero. Therefore “ 8 “ is the check digit in this example: GODE561231GR8.
